No but I do love my osteopath!  :)

I am another one of those car accident people who got referred to a chiro... definitely not a hottie, and when you are that intimately close with someone it would help if they were at least somewhat attractive.  ;)

I do have to make a recommendation to check out an osteopath. They are awesome. I don't want to marry just a Doctor of Medicine, I want a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine!!  [smiley=smitten.gif]I learned about them this past summer and I was impressed. I even had my back and neck worked on by some DO students I was working with. They manipulate your muscles and bones and do wonders as well. DOs are here in the UK too.

Me too!! I never even realised it ... but today, she had my lying on my stomach, and I could totally feel one hip pushing into the bed thing more than the other! The other was barely even touching!!

Mine doesn't stick out in the back, because my spine is curved, it sticks out to the side. So, one side looks like really curvy, and the other......well... :P    But!! The hip that sticks out to the side, has always been the baby hip, means I have never had to tip a little bit when carrying a baby on my hip, you know, you automatically stick a hip out to the side when theres a baby there, to support it. I have built in baby support!!!! ;D

Good chiropractors are the best! DH and I have been getting regular treatments by a chiropractor (about once a month) for years, and I have to say that I think it has a big effect on our overall health. We eat fairly well and exercise regularly, but we rarely get sick anymore and have much more body awareness now (we know now when something is "out", like a rib or hip--time to make an appointment!).

I was really skeptical when I first went, it took DH about 4 months to convince me, but the results are great. (and DH is not into any "woo-woo" type alternative medicine at all, which made his insistence even more intriguing) Our chiro emphasizes soft tissue work in addition to the adjustments. Her view is that if you don't work the muscles, then the adjustments are useless--the muscles will wrench everything out of alignment. So it's almost like a massage at the same time.

Highly recommended! Seems best though to get a referral from a friend who can give you info about how the chiro works, etc.

If I could afford it, I would go to a chiropractor on a regular basis.  I have struggled with back troubles all my life due to having a mild case of scoliosis.  After a car accident - some 12 years ago now - with insurance paying for it - I went to see one.  Oh, I had more upper body strength than I ever had and my back felt sooooo much better.  My posture was better for singing, as well.  It was the best my range has ever been.  I wish NHS covered it...but, it's good to know, that if I get desperate for an adjustment, £35 really isn't THAT bad.  :)
I was born in the Summer and at Night...my mother named me AUTUMN DAWN.  True story.

Jamie's...beyond the stars and past eternity.

EMAIL or PM me for information about gigs or about booking me (solo gig) or the band.

I've been going to the chiropractor since I was a kid.
I love it and would recommend it for anyone.

Not all chiropractors are the same though.  Some are too rough, some are too soft, but the one I'm seeing now... he's just right!

My chiropractor was just a tad silly. He lost my business. Was he bad?

NO Way, he was GOOD but his problem was that he also did accupuncture.

I used to go 1-2 times a year through 'pulling my back out' and being slant and suffering real SI pain. Then on one visit he asked me if I wanted to see what a pin cushion felt like. I had 4 sessions of cracking and sticking (didn't feel a thing though).
That was 5 years ago and I haven't been back once. It has been wonderful to be back pain free.

If I had the money, I would go all the time. It just feels so good when those bones 'CRACK domino fashion'. Pure bliss.

The first one I ever went to here was a petite pretty lil gal. I used to really look forward to the visits. But alas she went married some dang foreigner and he took her away.  :\\\'(  Then I found this old man.  :( ;)

Still tired of coteries and bans. But hanging about anyway.

My chiropractor says that there's no need to see her regularly. I love going, so actually wouldn't have minded if she insisted on a monthly visit! But it is nice to know that she's not trying to rip me off by keeping me hanging on. She did say, however, that most people would benefit from an annual visit just to be aligned and loosened up, regardless of whether they're in any pain.

I leave in to months, so I'm getting all the cheap chiro care I can get before I leave!  I have a lot of neck and sinus problems, which really benefit from getting the crack :)
Ohhh it was so good yesterday, when he cracked my neck!  I wish I could go everyday!

Q: What do you call a chiropractor for pets?
A: An animal cracker

Q: Did you hear one about the Psychiatric Chiropractor?
A: He specializes in attitude adjustments!

I hadn't been since I moved, but i've been twice in the past week with another appointment wednesday.  She's great, explains more than my previous chiro did (although he told jokes and discussed movies with me wchich i miss).  Fairly reasonable £45 for the initial 45 minute consult and £30 per follow up.  But with buying a house i don't think I'll book any past wednesday.  Gotta love the crunch though!  Oh and I laughed about the putting my feet together thing cause mine did that too!

That must be in the handbook of chiropractics! ;)
