health care for older students
« on: April 13, 2006, 02:08:57 AM »
my partner and i will be moving to scotland for school in august.  i'll be full time and she'll be part-time.  we are both around 30.  what are our health care options?  do we need to get insurance, or will we be paying out of pocket for our medical stuff?  any and all advice is welcome.  thanks

If you're a full time student, you have coverage under NHS.  No need for extra insurance, unless you think you'll need it.
Love your life, poor as it is. You may perhaps have some pleasant, thrilling, glorious hours, even in a poorhouse. The setting sun is reflected from the windows of the almshouse as brightly as from the rich man’s abode; the snow melts before its doors as early in the spring. Cultivate property like a garden herb, like sage. Do not trouble yourself much to get new things, whether clothes or friends. Turn the old; return to them. Things do not change; we change. Sell your clothes and keep your thoughts…

since my partner will only be a part-time student, what are her healthcare options?  and how expensive is private insurance in the UK?
