iOS App Recommendations

Any iPhone or iPad apps that someone moving to London should absolutely have? Maps, guides, social, deals/coupons, entertainment etc.

The BBC iPad.  I couldn't live without it.

The tube app is brilliant.  I think there's more than one, look for one that keeps you updated on any delays or planned works, and one that will plan your route.  It's a lifesaver.

Tesco groceries.  I LOVE that I can just scan items to add them to my basket for delivery.  Also, if you have to take the LIUK test, there's a great app for studying that as well.
I agree with the tube app.  It's wonderful!
Another good one is Skype, as you can call international from your mobile from your skype credits.

Edited to add:  If you are still in the US, it's a good idea to download Textfree ( Don't think you can get the US version here but I could be wrong)  I can text my kids in the states with it.  I can't text international from my mobile without it.

Thanks all for the tips so far! Definitely going to get the BBC app once I get over. Sad that neither Netflix or Hulu will work over there but at least I'll finally have access to Spotify.

I downloaded a tube app called London Tube. Has notifications and helps you choose routes. Seems pretty good so we'll see when I get over.

The Tesco app sounds cool. I hate going to the grocery store and if you can get them to deliver that sounds amazing.

If possible, be sure to get the projector before you come over also.

Just take the number of dollars you need to purchase it, and that becomes the amount of sterling needed, which is about 1.5 times the cost.  So stateside is best.

Hey Transpondia, what do you mean by the "the projector" is that an app or are you talking about an actual projector for movies & TV?

The projector is a device that plugs into it and beams videos to the wall or ceiling
