I had my application for a Barclays cash account returned today (I don't qualify for a regular current account). My proof of address, a water bill, was not good enough. I called to ask them what else was needed and was told that since the water bill didn't have a paid stamp on it it didn't count (we pay through direct debit by his current account). I was told to send in a letter from a company and that would count, such as from the letting agency. But that's not listed as one of their accepted proofs of address.
Has anyone else had this happen? I don't want to spend more time waiting around for Barclays if a letter isn't going to cut it.
