Cheese Smokies

I woke up today with a craving for Cheese Smokies, those little Oscar Mayer sausages that are filled with cheese! However like so many other things I love and miss from the States, you probably can't find them anywhere in the UK. (unless somebody knows?)

I wonder if I could have somebody in the States mail me some over ... it might be okay because they are processed meat and vacuum-packed.

Yummy! I havent ever seen them here but recently I went to an international food festival in Brum and I bought some cheese sausages from the German booth. VERY very similar to the Oscar Mayer ones. I used to have a link to a German food website but not sure if I still have it. Ill look though.

last time I was home I bought croissant rolls and little smokies and gobbled them up like my family made when I was a kid... strange craving indeed.

In Austria they are called Kasekrainer. They are sooo good! You can get them at little kiosks all over the Vienna. Perfect after a night out.

Im not sure, they are just some kind of Sausage things w/cheese inside.

Britwife bought me a dozen "minced pork rolls with cream cheese", brand name Dulano, at Lidl today for £1.50. She is a good wife.

Apparently they also had some beef sausages filled with cream cheese too, same price.

OK, ok not Oscar Mayer Cheese Smokies, but I have to say they are darn good and a snip at that price. Just nuke a couple in the microwave for about 30 seconds, makes a great snack.

Still looking for the real deal though .....
