I couldnt find any at sainsburys and need to go to the mall soon anyway, will see what cheapo pan I can find :) Thanks everyone!

Try Woolworths, Wilkensons, TKMaxx or a PoundStretcher type place. You should be able to find one for less than a fiver.  :)

I use my pan a lot, there's loads you can do with it. If he doesn't like banana nut bread, try cornbread. The homemade recipe is really easy.

Am I just being really thick? Why would a person want to buy a pan just to throw it away after one use??  ???

Aeonix, I bought cheap permanent baking pans at TK Maxx (just like TJ Maxx in the US) here -- for around a fiver or less per pan.  Surely the throw-aways aren't going to be much cheaper than that -- especially if you want more than a single loaf of banana bread - gaaaah!  (You can't eat just one!)  Just get them if you want them -- and it's not just for one thing...there's banana bread and pumpkin bread and coffee cake and cranberry-nut bread and zucchini bread and... ;) ;D

Or try a £ Shop. You can't beat that price. And even if you don't use it for another 5 years, don't throw it away!!!

Hey maybe you guys can help me on this one. I'm looking for a round baking pan, something to do cheesecake in. My old one was metal, and got all yucky and I had to throw it away. I would prefer metal to glass, but glass would do if I have to go that route. I can't find one the right size.

Are you wanting a springform pan or just a round (like a layer cake style) baking pan?  Neither should be particularly difficult to find -- in fact I've seen more different kinds of springform pans here than I ever saw in the US (round ones, square ones, etc).  Some (lol...well a lot really!) of my baking pans -- I got at TK Maxx here.  I might have one or two that I registered for when we married -- those would be from Debenhams...so I would think any sort of dept store would have them.  Plus, I'm sure other UKY folks will have some good online links as well! :)

You can find round metal pans anywhere from Woolworth's and Tesco's to high-end kitchenware shops.

See!! I checked woolworths and they didn't have them! Yes carolyn, I just want a plain one, like a layer cake, not a springform.

They're called sandwich pans over here, and Woolworth's ought to have them! Maybe your shop was just out of them.

Any supermarket will have them as well.
