Large Furniture
« on: May 22, 2006, 05:08:00 PM »
Well, my sea shipment finally arrived last Friday, but unfortunately, due to just plain not measuring things, my couch, didn't fit upstairs into the living room or lounge or whatever it's called here.  I'm thinking my options are selling the couch or getting an upholster to come in, disassemble, move, and then reassemble.  Has anyone tried the latter with any success?

Do you have a large window it would fit through?

That's a great idea, and it's what they did all the time when I lived in Amsterdam because of the very narrow, steep, winding staircases in the old canalhouses.  The tops of many buildings even have hooks in order to hoist furniture up and swing it in the window.
