So are they working on it? or is it slid off the back of someones in tray and no one has even looked at it yet??? Just getting a bit nervous as today is day 5 sense they have gotten my paperwork and the husband flew home yesterday. Guess I would just like to know something!! Thx

LA doesn't typically email.  NYC does.  When I was nervous about my student visa in 2004, I rang and the guy told me basically not to call to check status because if there was a problem, etc. they'd ring me.  I'm guessing you filed for a spousal visa.  Relax.  I've never heard of anyone not getting theirs when there weren't some serious issues.  If you have a normal application, it'll be fine.  My visa took 12 working days to process.  Considering Monday was a holiday, they've only had it 4 days.
Love your life, poor as it is. You may perhaps have some pleasant, thrilling, glorious hours, even in a poorhouse. The setting sun is reflected from the windows of the almshouse as brightly as from the rich man’s abode; the snow melts before its doors as early in the spring. Cultivate property like a garden herb, like sage. Do not trouble yourself much to get new things, whether clothes or friends. Turn the old; return to them. Things do not change; we change. Sell your clothes and keep your thoughts…

The only email I got from the LA consulate was a message stating that my daughters' visas had been approved.    :)

When I am grown-up I will understand how BEAUTIFUL it feels to administrate my life effectively.

Until then I will continue to TORCH all correspondence that bores me and to dance NAKED over the remnants of its still glowing embers.

LA emailed me the day after they received my documents to let me know it was received and being processed.  The next day I had another email saying it was approved.

Same with me but I recieved an email within 5 days saying it was approved. Dont worry. I was a wreck then but it will come through.
Posted my FLR (M) on May 9th 2006 and got my visa on Jun 2nd 2006.

Thx you guys I would love to say it has eased my mind but honestly untill I hear something I will prolly still be checking my email every 30mins lol. Gonna take the advice of not ringing last thing I want to do is piss someone off. It's just the not knowing anything that is frying my nerves and sleep depervation doesn't help.
Oh and yes it was for a spouse visa(entry clerance) I applied for. Thanx again for the words of encouragement everyone this site has helped me calm down(a bit) and take deep breathes so much over the last 3 months!
