Certificate of approval?
« on: June 07, 2006, 09:02:12 PM »
:) Hi everyone - -well  the time has come for me and my Brit to sort out the application for FLR but - -the mention of  a 'Certificate of approval ' puzzles me. I'm a US citizen here on a 6 month fiance visa, supposed to be getting married in 3 weeks time -- do i need to get one of those certificates before I can marry here? I have never read about that anywhere before.

No, you would only need the CoA if you were here on some other sort of visa (like a student visa or work permit).

You don't need to worry about COA.  Just get the FLR-M form filled out and your stuff together, then get married and either apply in person or send it off. Easy as pie!
