Technical errors in movies and TV shows have come up in some of my tech forums quite regularly. (O.K., so we're all geeks......
)
Telephones are often misrepresented, and quite often one does not even have to be a "techie" type to spot the mistake, e.g. a scene which is supposedly set in New York and a character walks up to a payphone which has a Pacific Bell logo emblazoned on it.
For another
very common error, just watch out for the number of times you see someone drop a coin in a modern single-slot payphone and the sound effects department has dubbed a "ding ding" on to the soundtrack. The bells and gongs went out with the old three-slot phones years ago......
