Bergkamp Testimonial

Did anyone go to Bergkamp's testimonial at the Emirates Stadium today?  Looks like they had some great players in the legend line-up.

Of course I did!!!

 ;D

it was truly amazing.  Not only did I get to see Vieira back in the red and white, we had Dixon, Winterburn, Seaman (sans 'tach and silly hair!), Keown, Wrighty...and then to see Cruyff and Van Basten out for Ajax...fantastic!

I have some photos of the new stadium which i'll download as soon as i can, but it rendered me speechless.  In the last 12 months I have been to the Millenium Stadium, Stamford Bridge, the Olympic Stadium Berlin  and Statd de France, and I can honestly say that The Grove knocks spots off them all!

You lucky devil!  Even though I'm not an Arsenal supporter, I'd have dearly loved to see that game.  They had so much of the Dutch squad that I used enjoy watching.

BTW, used to love Nigel Winterburn.  He always struck me as the epitome of an English footballer.

Did Marc Overmars play?  Took me forever to remember his name.  Could only remember that he went to Barca and looked like Bepe Di Marco from East Enders.

Yeah, Sparky Marky Overmars was there too, bless him!

As for Nigel...he was great!  If I were Wenger I'd sign him back up!  He can still play!

A truly brilliant day.  So many legends.  It was desperately sad to say goodbye to Denis, but what a way to go.
