????Child from previous marriage covered by NHS????
« on: July 21, 2006, 09:26:45 PM »
I am a US citizen and I have a child from a previous marriage. I am marrying a UK citizen and will be settling in England. Will both me and my son be covered by NHS? Does my son have to be legally adopted by his step-father, or will he be covered by default when my finace and I get hitched? Any info would be greatly appreciated!

As long as your son has a valid settlement visa (which he will need in order to move to the UK with you) he will be entitled to NHS treatment.
When I am grown-up I will understand how BEAUTIFUL it feels to administrate my life effectively.

Until then I will continue to TORCH all correspondence that bores me and to dance NAKED over the remnants of its still glowing embers.

I was in the same situation and can confirm that crabbit's advice is spot on.
