Advice on car
« on: August 19, 2006, 01:43:33 PM »
Hi folks,

I am looking for a competent advice on a car model. In the UK market, London preferably, I’m looking for a passenger car around £7000 (for a new one), which is wide inside (!) in the seats like WV and ‘tall’ like Suzuky WagonR  but has automatic transmission (!).
The car make (brand) does not matter. Please, advice what is available.

Thank you in advance,
- Michael

Can't help with specifics, but this site was helpful to me. It allows you to compare specific cars against each other. Good luck!

What about a smaller sized landrover? Those look a reasonable size to me - not a big Chelsea tractor but still that sort of car. Or a Rav4? Or Honda CRV? Or Kia makes one along those lines too. I like the height of those sort of cars. As for width, we went for something quite small - I have a hard enough time with the narrow roads as it is!!!  ;)

I have a car which sounds like it fits your description - not sure on the price brand-new though.

I bought a used Toyota Lucida, (Japanese import - known in the UK as the Previa) which is a 7/8 seater and has plenty of room but is, surprisingly, not so wide that you'd find it a problem driving along narrow lanes - living in Cornwall gives me quite a bit of experience with that!

Mine is a diesel and an automatic and is pretty good with the ole fuel consumption.

Having said all that - I'm no expert when it comes to cars but I thought I'd give you something to start with. ;)
