Tooth Powder
« on: August 19, 2006, 03:54:18 AM »
Anyone know of one that's ready made that doesn't taste too nasty?  Or have a recipe for making one?  I know that toothpaste is no longer allowed in carryon luggage, and I just can't go 24 hours (my usual 'door-to-door' travel time) without brushing my teeth!!!
When I am grown-up I will understand how BEAUTIFUL it feels to administrate my life effectively.

Until then I will continue to TORCH all correspondence that bores me and to dance NAKED over the remnants of its still glowing embers.

Try here for a recipe.

I know that you used to be able to get it from larger grocery stores and chemists - I don't know if that's still the case.

What about those little thingys Oral-B makes to brush your teeth? They come sealed in foil and fit over your finger with little bumps to 'brush' with?

Can you take baking soda? It's a sub for toothpaste anyway. I was going to suggest putting some in a small baggie, but we can see where that might end up!! :o However, tooth powder, baking soda, they are both powder........?

Not that I would ever advocate trying to trick the NTSA, but....

Maybe you could "pre-paste" your toothbrush before you pack it.  Maybe cram it down into the bristles or something?

Hypothetically speaking, of course. ;)

I worried a bit about bringing an unmarked container (baggie or otherwise) of white powder....so even though I thought at first about making my own tooth powder I'm now thinking it's not such a good idea.

Now that you mention it....I think I have seen toothbrushes w/the bristles already packed w/'dried' toothpaste/cleanser.  One use only type of thing....I'll do a little digging and see what I can come up with!
