what would be the best procedure?

I can't go into detail. But I may have to make a quick move home soon. Please advise.  :-\\\\

Who will be repatriating? USCs or UKCs or a combination?

If a visa is needed then I wouldn't hold out any hope of a speedy process.  :-\\\\

even DCF, the fastest way to get my hubs back, has taken 4 months from start to finish

not sure if there is some kind of other loophole for emergencies though

I have been here since August 2002 and I have ILR.

We are prepared for a few months of separation if need be. Four months is a long time, but not impossible...

Aimiloo, PM or email me if you want...

DCF is do-able then. Check the US Embassy site for details on filing the I-130 directly.

The I-130 leads to an immigrant visa which means that your spouse can work and travel from the get-go.

Thanks Tam. Would I need to be in the UK for the entire I-130 process, or we get it in motion and then I could go ahead to the US?

Y'all this is freaking me out a bit, and I may be jumping to conclusions. Sorry. Stressed.

If you read here you will see that you will definitely need to be present in the UK for the filing but there is no information on whether you have to  be in the UK once the petition is filed.

Here is an overview of the basic process on the USCIS site, (American immigration authority) - ignore #3 though as it does not apply.

Thanks for the feedback. Situation has improved and it looks like we won't be having to move back super fast. Whew!
