frozen personal pension?
« on: August 30, 2006, 04:35:55 PM »
Hi,

4 years ago when we left the UK, DH had a personal pension that was frozen. We are moving back shortly. Does anyone know if we can activate it again and start contributing again?

Thanks

Penny

Penny - you can indeed use it.  Indeed it sounds as if you have lost an opportunity here because up to 6 April 2006 you could have contributed based on earnings from up to 5 years before and make contributions on top of which the UK government would have given you tax relief even though you were not paying tax.  Such a shame you were not advised sooner. ???

Oh well, we just want to activate it and start contributing again after a 4 year absence. DH is 38 so we still have plenty of contributions to make.
