Coming over for 2 weeks in October---may I ask for your advice?

Hi everyone!  We are coming over in October for 2 weeks for a vacation/look around visit.  We are looking into moving to the UK and I am asking your advice about what kind of things we should look into (e.g. housing, schools, neighborhoods, etc.)  I know that making a move like this is a big decision and we have to start somewhere.  Any advice is greatly appreciated!  Thank you!

It's hard to give concrete advice without a bit more information - do you want to move north or south or somewhere in between? Do you have jobs sorted out? Does one of you have family in the UK that you want to be near? It's a big small country  so there are a lot of options!
