Travelling by train w/ baby

Has anyone done this?  How much of a hassle was it and what did you do w/ the pushchair while on the train.  Travelling from Manchester to Euston/London.

A lot of trains now have a special carriage with extra room for pushchairs (and bicycles!).  If not, I have always just gone and sat in first class where there is more room for a pushchair.  I have only been asked to move from there once.

We did it but had a baby carrier.  However, I see people on the trains with prams all the time.  Just leave extra time for things because stations might not be that pram friendly. (Ohh, you are gone already, I'm sure it went fine!)

I second going first class.  Much more comfortable, they bring you tea/coffee/biscuits and there is more room.  I have taken the full pram on and have always had help if I needed it.
