Hi all!

I seem to have lost or misplaced my passport, which also included my FLR entry clearance. Earlier this year, I had applied for a new passport to include my married name, for ID purposes, etc.. I intended to carry both passports ( the new one and my cancelled one, with the FLR in it when I travel, until I apply for my ILR next year.)

Anyhow, if I don't find my passport, how do I go about applying for a replacement FLR visa? Do I have to pay again and submit everything to the NYC consulate again? Or can I just apply in the UK?

I've searched for this on the forum, and a poster had a similar problem, and sorted it out from the UK. But...that was a few years ago and was just wondering if the rules had changed since then? I checked the HO website and on the FAQ link, it stated that you would have to re-apply by post and pay the full amount.

So is this the case?

Thanks for your help guys! :)

Speak soon!

Angela

Just wanted to add, since I last posted about this, I think my passport, among a few other things, has been stolen. I have filed a police report and have a case number to include with my replacement visa application.

Anyway, I will need to contact the New York Consulate because I don't have much proof that I have a spousal visa. I do have my appointment confirmation from my visa interview last year ( it includes my reference number as well as the reference number from the VAF2 application.) Just to add, I do have a copy of the first page from my stolen passport, it has my picture, passport number, etc.. I'm not sure that any of this will be enough proof, however.

So how do I contact the New York Consulate from the UK? I have sent them an e-mail about what is going on. Will that be enough?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Angela

Don't know where Vicky is today.

But my suggestion for you, Angela, is don't be silly.   British consulates are *issuing* posts.  We wouldn't be much of a country if everyone who lost their passport containing their FLR had to return to the cognizant issuing post would we?   ;D

Get a new passport from the Americans and take it, with all your stuff, to a PEO.

(hijack)  I'm sorry for your horrible day in court Vicky!  (end hijack)

I'm glad someone asked this question, although, I'm really sorry for the circumstances it had to be asked under.  That's horrible if it was stolen!  A few times I haven't put my passport back where I usually keep it, and I've really freaked out until I found it.  I keep copies of the photopage of my passport and my spousal visa in a folder for just such an occasion.  Good to know that it can be sorted out though!  Angela, I really hope that it wasn't in the stolen items and that you find it soon!   :\\\'(

Thanks for answering my post Garry. You and Victoria are always the voice of reason. I promise to start chanting my mantra: ''Angela, you must chill!'' ;D

As worrying as it is, its nice to know that it can be sorted out. Thanks for the kind words as well.

P.S.- Victoria, sorry to hear you had such a rotten day. Hope today is better for you! [smiley=hug.gif]
