Our Offer was accepted!

We literally just started looking for property this weekend and saw 7 properties on Saturday alone.  Sunday we had one more property to view and, despite being a bit tired, as soon as we walked in it felt right.  With every additional floor i loved it more and more.  As we were walking back to the car we both said how much we loved it and that it was perfect as our first home (its a 150 year old weavers cottage in a lovely village that has 4 bedrooms and has been comepletely modernized inside with a beautiful kitchen and bath).  So after a sunday lunch with his family and a long discussion with his dad we decided to ring up first thing this morning and make an offer!  By 2 pm they accepted and we are hoping to move in 28 days (the current owner is moving into a new build and are ready to move to their new place).  It's all happened very quickly so i hope it doesn't fall through!!  Buying property in England is so different from the states so i'm feeling a little bit clueless!!

Also loved the fact that they agreed to leave the stainless steel american style fridge complete with water and ice dispenser!!

Excellent news...a big congrats! The house sounds lovely and what an added bonus to have the American fridge! Best wishes!  :)

Ardenbird and I are looking actively for a place to buy. We found out on Monday that our landlord plans to sell the place we are renting, so we need to move. Fortunately he has given us a good lead time, and I had been looking informally just recently. I'm going to see a place this afternoon, and we visited somewhere we could live yesterday evening. We'll see how these turn out. We'd love to find a place like yours.

It's nice to hear success stories.
