I am in the midst of using Rainier Overseas Movers, as a) they're local to Seattle and b) they are recommended as a non-scam on movingscam.com. Everything has gone well so far, except they're way over the estimate of 35-45 days. (The boat is set to come into port on the 9th, which will make it around 60 days.)

I was impressed when I was only charged for the 125 cubic feet I ended up shipping, instead of the 200 cf I was quoted for.

Supposedly everything shipping into the UK has slowed down to a crawl, even stuff leaving, because of the recent security scares.  My move is a bit stuck as well.

From what I understand you may be in for a long wait.  Also, a few weeks ago, EVERYTHING was getting pulled by customs and given the once over, so you might get nailed with some customs inspection fees as well.

Damn! *sigh*

I've just gotten my paperwork from the UK movers - even when it gets into port on the 9th it will take 10-15 days to get to me. If it takes any longer, it won't even get here before the wedding! (Or with my luck, it will come during the crazy week BEFORE the wedding. Or during the honeymoon. *headdesk*)

*ahem* Not that I'm bitter or anything...
