Food Poisoning
« on: October 14, 2006, 02:26:34 PM »
My DH & I are totally put off fish & chips now due to our beloved local chip shop serving up unhealthy fish!  Won't go into details, but I thought I'd let you all know what the general procedure it in case you get it.

We called our local Environmental Health office (should be found within your local council telephone numbers) & they asked a few questions & visited the fish shop to investigate.  Although I know there is little your GP can do to help us feel better,Env Health still requested we get a sterile bottle from the GP for a stool sample to be sent off to a lab to decipher what bug we actually had.  That sounds vile, but if it stops anyone else getting this & helps to discipline the chip shop owner - I'll do it!

I must say how impressed I was with their swift response in this - they were sh*t hot compared to when I had it in Key West - they did NADA! They couldn't have cared less!

Don't take such a drastic measure! I think you just need a new fish & chip shop. What point is life without fish & chips??   ;)

I know, we're really gutted - but in all honesty, the thought of fish & chips makes me feel really ill  [smiley=puke.gif].
