Oyster Card

You definitely don't need to prove anything to get an Oyster card. Be sure that if you do prepaid instead of the weekly that you can not use it on the overground or the tram.

I live in Wimbledon and the lines can be long, but there is more than one window that does Oyster. In fact, on Sunday, only one window didn't do Oyster. And I got my card at 8:30 on a Sunday night, so it wasn't too early. I think they are trying to improve!

That is good news!  I moved away from South London two weeks ago, so they must have updated since then.

I agree!! In principle I hate registering for customer cards but if this means they will take more care of the bus routes I frequent, well excellent!

I save all of my subversive movements when I buy a day travelcard... with cash only of course!! 

What's really annoying though is how there are less cash ticket machines than credit card ones. I was in a hurry and had to charge £3.40 because I couldn't wait in line for a cash ticket machine... stupid. 

I ended up getting the weekly pass and was able to utilize the trains, underground and the lovely Tramlink as well from Wimbledon, very efficient for the most part.
