I thought about bringing my Vonage with me too, as opposed to getting the service in the UK (I checked, they do offer service where I would be living). I do like the idea of bringing my current U.S. Vonage account so I can make calls to the U.S. for free, but that does mean that anyone in the UK who calls you would be making a long-distance call to the U.S.! What I was going to do was get a UK vonage account, and then pay the small extra fee to get a "virtual" second U.S. number for friends/family in the states to call. Perhaps it would be better, however, to keep the U.S. Vonage account and pay the $5 a month extra to get a  second virtual number that would be a UK number? I'll have to check pricing in the UK to see which is cheaper.

This all depends on getting a cable modem, something that doesn't require a phoneline there. Does anyone know if the Internet service offered by Sky is through cable? I know it says its broadband, but I think some dial-up service is listed as broadband? Maybe I'm thinking of DSL, though?
