Trying to choose a credit card
« on: March 31, 2016, 11:25:32 AM »
Hi all,

I am trying to decide on a credit card for myself. Does anyone have any suggestions? I was thinking about going with a delta credit card to earn sky miles. Does anyone have experience with airline credit cards? I want something with rewards on it. I will pay of my credit card each month on time. Any other cards I should be looking at? I M trying to build my credit up.

Thanks!

Not sure how long you've been here but capital one has a credit builder card which is easy to qualify for if you don't have a credit history here. I just got approved for it quickly and easily. I think KFDancer has had this card too.

You might also check with your bank to see what they offer. I have US rewards card that I really like, but no UK rewards ones.

I've got a Tesco credit card that works as a club card as well .  The  points add up and are especially valuable for tunnel trips to France

We have a US Chase c/card for United miles and a Citibank card for Hilton points. It would have been useful to get a card associated with British Airways as we prefer to use them for transatlantic flights.

We have found that using miles for UK/Europe flights costs nearly as much as just shopping around and buying a cheap flight, due to the cost of the UK departure tax.

Hi All,

My DH and I have a Tesco card together. We don't really travel around the UK or Europe. We normally go back to see my family and friends in the USA.

Hi,

There's simply way too many potential choices out there, all with different offers, interest charges and rates etc etc.

Take a look over on Money Saving Expert - http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/

Which will have more useful details and information on the better credit cards out there which will hopefully help you decide.

I've been collecting avios points mainly (airmiles) via Shell fuel and Tesco club points. If an Airline credit card suits you then consider one.

Cheers, DtM! West London & Slough UK!

Barclaycard Platinum gave me one no bother, low credit limit to start though.
