Help with cats!
« on: November 01, 2006, 01:33:37 PM »
Here's the deal...

We moved back to the UK in March, and had to leave our cats behind.  They're chipped, but hadn't had the rabies titre test done.  We had it done before we left, the paperwork bits are finished, they can get over here now...

How the hell do I go about getting them here?  I'm in the UK, but flying back to the US to sort it out is an option I'm willing to take.  Is it necessary?  How do I do this?

I sent mine cargo and my brother put her on the plane and I picked her up on the other end.  It was pretty easy. - but then she went from Canada so I don't know if it's the same in the US.

I think it should work pretty much the same as MrsPink said.  Granted I flew back to get my cats only because I felt more comfortable that way.  But all they needed was to be dropped off at cargo, a few papers signed, the money paid, and then picked them up on the either side.  Depending on which airline you go with, I don't think you have to fly with them.  Do you have someone back home that could do all this for you?

Yes, you can have someone hand them over the cargo dept. at your behalf and you collect them from the other side.

Great news that they finally get to join you!
