Further BAA Hand Baggage Update
« on: November 03, 2006, 04:41:23 PM »
The UK Government has just announced that there will be further
changes to hand baggage restrictions which will take effect from 6th
November 2006 onwards.

From Monday 6th November 2006 you will be allowed to carry a limited
amount of liquid through security control. The liquids will need to
be in individual containers with a capacity of no more than 100ml, or
100g in weight. The containers will then need to fit comfortably in a
transparent, resealable bag measuring no more than 20cm (8") by
20cm (8").

More details regarding these new restrictions can be found on their website.

I'm flying to Houston on Thursday, has anyone traveled back from the States recently, that can share their expirences? I need to take my laptop, and am concerned about when I depart the states. Thanks in advance :)

I would check with your airline but a colleague flew back to the UK on BA 4-6 weeks ago from the states and was able to take his laptop on the plane (not checked in cargo) so hopefully the rules are still relaxed.

Thanks Jules,

Yeah, I think they have gone nearly back to 'normal', but I hate unpleasant surprises when I travel, lol.
