Hotels in Barcelona
« on: November 15, 2006, 12:14:10 PM »
It's been some time since people posted on this topic, so I'm going to renew it, as we're thinking of spending Christmas in Barcelona. We'd be hoping for the lower end of the price spectrum - something like 80 euros? Maybe that's asking too much . . .

Used to travel there on business quite a bit and anything near las Ramblas is really nice.   Afraid when it was my company's dime, I was staying at hotels in the 300+ EUR category, so can't help on the suggestions.

Go to www.tripadvisor.com and do a little search for Barcelona Hotels.

I LOVE the site -- you'll get reviews, prices, and pictures taken by guests.

We stayed at the Acropolis Guest House in GrĂ cia.  An online travel guide says while the house itself has a lovely old charm, it is 'nothing if not quirky, and more than a little chaotic'.  That it certainly is.  It was a little too quirky for our tastes & we found it a combination of kind of scruffy & silly & weird, but I think we are hopelessly bourgeois. In any case, it was an experience.  :P :)

When my boyfriend and I visited a few years ago we stayed at the Hesperia Presidente hotel. It's on Avenida Diagonal, one of the main streets, but we didn't hear any noise at night really. The room was good and clean, and I would stay there again in a heart beat. I especially liked that we could walk a lot of places and could properly see the city. From the prices I see online it should fit into your budget.

Wow, I can't believe this topic has been newly posted right now.  I was about to do a search for the very same as I'm thinking of planning a trip to Barcelona to give my husband for Christmas.   :D

Hi Ellen! and those looking for Barcelona

Try and get a quote for hotels from www.needahotel.com I used them alot for hotel only and they are very good and almost always include breakfast in the price.

another one I use to use is hotelconnect they are also very good and you both places give you instant availability and your voucher as soon as you book!
