Bioidentical Hormones and/or Compounding Pharmacies
« on: November 20, 2006, 05:13:11 AM »
Hello All!

I am so happy to have found this site. I am brand new [my first post] but have lurked for a few weeks now.

My fiance and I are in the early stages of contemplating a move to the UK (London area). It will be due to a job transfer on his part. I am a teacher and am fairly confident I will get a job, possibly through a service like BlueWave.

But my question is more from a health standpoint. Here in the US (Texas) I am taking bioidentical hormones through a regular doctor and compounding pharmacy. (BHRT as opposed to HRT) I am aware that bioidentical hormones are easy to get in parts of Europe; but my concern is that they aren't readily available in the UK. I am taking compounded and bioidentical hormones for hypothyroidism (compounded T3 and T4) and perimenapause (natural progesterone and estrogen).

For the first time in 15 years, I feel GREAT! And I don't want to give this up. But I don't want to have to choose between my health and the UK. So I am hopeful that I'm just not looking in the right places...maybe I'm Googling the wrong terms or words.

Any help you can give would be most appreciated.

Kind Regards,
Kary
