Tigers fans?

No, not the Leicester Tigers rugby team - I mean the Detroit Tigers! I'm a Michigan native, so I'm just enjoying that fact that they just took a game in New York :-)

I'm a White Sox fan and I would like to wish you luck in the series against NYC.  I think you guys will go all the way!

I've completely lost touch with baseball in the 3+ years I've been here, but used to be a diehard Red Sox fan. So, obviously, any team that beats the Yankees is A-OK with me!  ;D

ah, thanks, chigirl. They've now done in the Yankees - very gratifying! And I was living in Boston before i moved to the UK, chary, so i also support the Red Sox :-) By the way, chi, i was just in your home town a few weeks ago and took this photo from the Sears tower:

Thanks, Chigirl!

Hey Smootie - I'm old enough to remember the '68 team! Willie Horton, Al Kaline, Norm Cash and of course, Denny McLain. It would be cool if St. Louis turned out to be the team they play this time, since that's who they beat in '68.

oy - apparently a number of fielding errors by the pitchers played a fairly large role in the losses. But credit to the Cards for forcing the errors. In short, they were outplayed. I'm still delighted, though, that they knocked the Yankees out of the playoffs! And the turnaround they made this year was phenomenal.

I'm pretty sure everyone outside of the Bronx was happy that the Tigers knocked the Yankees out.  I was pulling for the Tigers, especially Kenny Rogers.  Better luck next year  :)
