Taxi from Gatwick to Bath??

Since I just found out that my cats will have to fly into Gatwick instead of Bristol, I'm having a dilemma. Any suggestions on how to get my cats and me from Gatwick to Bath? I could rent a car, but I haven't driven since I've been here and well, I don't think the trip to Gatwick to Bath should be my first go at it. I would have done it from Bristol, but that's not nearly as far and I have an idea of the route. Someone told me to take the train, but piling two cats and all my luggage onto the train and/or tube by myself sounds like a nightmare. So, I think the cab is my only option. Any ideas of the cost of this?

Are they flying in with Continental?  If so, PBS International offers a delivery service and they'll take you and your luggage too.  I'm trying to remember what they quoted me to get to Bristol - maybe 200 pounds?

I'm not far from Bath and have used taxis to Heathrow a couple of times, Gatwick is similar distance, it's about £80-100. PM me if you need any help with taxi companies.

Also, just thought of the bus, there's the National Express bus service that does a Gatwick to Bath route, a round trip ticket is £25 from here to Heathrow. You might want to ask about the cats though, maybe an extra seat, I don't know.

Thanks for the tips! Carrie, did you use PBS international to bring your pet all the way from the States, or just once you arrived? I looked at their website and it seems to be more about the international travel of the pet, not just a UK transportation company.

I used PBS to get from Cleveland to Gatwick.  We hired a van and my FIL drove us (me, the dog and 2 cats) home to Bristol - PBS was too expensive for us.  Just wanted to let you know it was an option.
