Nurses and medication
« on: December 11, 2006, 12:48:21 AM »
I'm going to a new doctor tomorrow and will be getting my registration check up. Can the nurse I'll be seeing give out medication? Or will I have to make another appointment with a doctor?

From my own experiance if its your first visit there you'd have to see a doctor but after that the nurse can do it for you

it really depends on the medication.  i have to see a doctor every year for my Birth control.  however, in between this i can see the nurse. however, i need to see a doctor for a refill on my thryoid medication so i almost always see the doctor.

if you call your surgery, ask them what medication you need/refill/talk about and they will tell you if you need to see a doctor or if a nurse will suffice.
If you harbour bitterness, happiness will dock elsewhere.
