Exercise

I haven't really posted here for a while, 'cause I haven't really had time to think about my health and comment on it.

I'm pleased to say though, that I'm riding my bike every day and enjoying it a lot :)  I ride to work and back home again (about 3.3 miles each way, and it takes 13-17 minutes depending on traffic and how hard I go).  Since I started riding I've been feeling better about myself and feel like I'm actually doing something that's gonna make a difference to me being over-weight.  It's probably lucky that I enjoy it, as I'm sure that's most of the impetus to continue.

Hopefully when I get some drum cases for my drum kit I shall once again play them more often and lose weight in this way also.

Odd that you mentioned this as I was just sitting here trying to get off my lazy tookis and do some of that excersize stuff.

I think getting the motivation is difficult and then add to that finding something you like to do and will continue doing.

Good luck on the bike riding Nef and here's to your health!

I guess it's always a matter of finding exercise that you like to do, otherwise you end up not doing it any more out of boredom.

Hope you find something that you like doing too :)  Elle and I go out walking occassionally and that's supposed to be very good for you.

Burn those calories right down the drain...  very good nef...  I too am trying real hard to get back into my routines...its not easy after a long stay away...but I know it feels good once I have finished...  Tom and I have started walking the dogs further...and taking them for hikes in the woods...  so it is good for both beast and masters... I am finding myself bending down more often when going up the steps to do lazyman pushups and leg lifts...  everything counts...LOL...  Did you know that sitting at a computer and typing for 20 minutes burns 22 calories...LOL!

Hey, I exercise 4-5 times a week at my local gym...and really enjoy it. I started up again a year ago this past  April and haven't lost an ounce! (Gram? hahaha) Maybe I am not working hard enough...and that is why it is so enjoyable?! eriously, I find I am much better cardiovascular wise...and I took up weight lifting mid March and have had to up my weights so I must be getting stronger! I've goofed off this past week though...

What I was going to say is, even if I don't  lose weight from exercise alone (diet is a big componant, and maybe this is just a cop out, butt I don't like drinking alone so my only vice to cope with this long distance relationship is by indulging in carbs and chocolate!) I feel stronger, healthier, more vital and energetic...and that is a good thing irregardless if I were underweight, "normal" weight or overweight!

Plus, exercising always helps me to cope with missing my honey...I just turn my walkman up REALLY loud and bebop along...

Anyway...glad to hear you're having a positive experience!

Good job Geally!  And you are right.  I actually 'assign' exercise to kids who are a bit down as it does help out a lot.  And you are being very healthy if you work out that much.  Keep it up!

Nef, would this be a bad time to say that there's nothing wrong with a little extra meat?! :D...Says the chunky chic who is also trying to lose weight and whose weight has fluctuated so many times in her life she can't remember how many times she's been thin or fat. :-[
...Right on, I hope it works out for you. :)
