Art Garfunkel's reading list

If it's for real, it's kind of cool. And I can't think of any reason a person would make it up ... so I'm assuming it is for real.

How does he know exactly when he read the books??  He must be the most organized man alive.  Pretty cool if like you said it's genuine.  Can't see someone taking the time to fake it!

Wow! Although . . I can't even remember what I read two years ago, he's going on almost 40! What did he do, keep a journal of every book he read??

I keep a book list.  If I didn't I'd forget what I'd read.

Art Garfunkel would have to read about 30 books a year.  That is totally doable.

Me too!  I have the worst memory!  I'd never be able to tell you what order or when I read it though, but that's a pretty cool idea to keep track of it the way he did.

Seems a bit obsessive compulsive, if you ask me.

Nothing wrong with a healthy bit of OCD!  ;)

I keep a book journal now, too. I like to look back and see what I read when. I also jot down a few thoughts about the book. But I wish I had one going back as far as Art Garfunkel!!

The book journal is a cool idea.  I'd never thought of keeping track of what i read.  My problem is i go back and re-read the same books alot. :-\\\\

Here's a brief but good article about starting a reading journal:

mine isn't very sexy - just a database.  But whenever I finish a book, I update it.  If I really liked the book, I will write something but mostly I just put the author, title, and date finished.

Thanks for posting the link!  How much do you put in yours?  I don't think i'd keep up with it, but might try for the new year to do one.

Mine's a bit more detailed that MrsPink's but certainly not as detailed as some people's. I write a brief (1 or 2 sentence) description of what the book was about -- mostly to remind me later. Then whether I liked it or not, and why. When I read it. Where I read it. Who recommended it. Where I got the book. That sort of thing.
