sacrilege - but oh, so good!
« on: January 22, 2007, 06:01:12 PM »
Saturday DH and I went to a lovely little tea shop. We used to go there pretty often for cream teas but haven't been since before kiddo was born.

Anyway, as I perused the menu, I discovered this VERY traditional little tea shop was getting a bit adventurous... they had a Black Forest Cream Tea!

Now, I love Black Forest (I love anything with chocolate and cherry) so this sounded very interesting. And it was... normally I'm not one for messing with a good thing - and cream teas are very good things. But this was really good for a change once in a while. The scone was chocolate. I think they used cocoa so it wasn't too sweet. It was served with clotted cream and cherry preserves. All in all a great concept. The scone was a tad dry, and I've had better preserves, but yummy nevertheless!
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

I just had my first cream tea over the Holidays and I thought it was the BEST THING EVER!  Not anymore.
