My mate is a Surveyor with one of the larger construction firms - I forget his exact specialty, but last time I spoke to him, he wants to study some more so that his skills will be valuable abroad as he doesn't want to stay in the UK long term - he's going for all the major construction places around the world to gain expertise i.e all the crazy building work going on in Dubai, Singapore, some parts of Europe and of course North America
with the amount of money on offer - for him it's crazy not to - plus his missus as a lawyer can help out too if she leaves her corporate jobbie...
I'd suggest you might look into this kinda thing as well!
