Has Anyone Been to the Cape Verde Islands?

My husband and I are trying to plan a (rather last minute) tropical holiday for March or April. The Cape Verde Islands have been suggested to us because of the excellent year-round climate. I would love to hear from anyone who has been down to that part of the world, and find out what they thought.

Also, if you have another suggestion of where to go during that time of the year, I would love to hear those as well.

I'm from a town w/ a rather large Cape Verdean community.  Don't know much about the climate but the food is awesome!!!

Wow. That is terrible.

In the end, we didn't end up considering the Cape Verde Islands for this trip, but it is a place I would like to go. It's sad, because it is an up and coming resort destination,  but I'm sure this will put a lot of people off from going there despite the fact that it doesn't seem to have been a random attack.
