Recommendations for in-house petsitters?

Just wondering if anyone has experience with using an in-house pet-sitting service in the UK? 

We'll be in the States for a bit over two weeks (end of March and beginning of April) and would prefer that our two (spoiled rotten) cats be able to remain at home rather than boarding them at a kennel.  They've only ever spent three nights away from home (one after they were altered and the other two during the move to the UK!) and are particularly attached to having people around, as I haven't really worked outside the house for one reason or another since they were born!  I'd feel much better about leaving them behind if I knew that another cat-lover would be there, not just to give them food and scoop their box, but to give them lots of snuggles and companionship.  In the past, my parents have stayed with them whilst I've been away, but that's not an option now that we're in the UK!

One that I've been reading about is Animal Aunts - anyone have any experience with this company?

Meg, my local cattery offers in-house pet care as well. They don't actually live in your house, but stop in every day for feeding, litter tray scooping (I have a cat), play-time and cuddles. You might do some suprise drop-ins at a few local catteries to see if you think they look good, clean, responsible, etc.

Thanks, hon. )  Oddly enough, our trip coincides with Easter hols - sure you and Rich don't want to visit lovely Redcar and house-sit for a couple of weeks?

Thanks for the tip!  I'm planning to scout out a few vets next week - the boys are due for their rabies jabs and I've finally run out of Frontline - so I'm hoping to get some recommendations that way.  It's a situation made more difficult by the fact that we're moving house between now and then, so not only will the boys be getting used to a new place right before we leave for two weeks, they'll also have to visit the dreaded V-E-T.

hehe, don't tempt me (seriously!)  I can't wait till I get to have kitties of my own...sigh.
