Love to cook!
« on: March 08, 2007, 06:23:50 PM »
One of the reasons I am very excited to move to the UK is I love to cook and can't wait to cook with local ingredients.  I love the cream, butter, cheeses that you can't get in England and I think they are superior to what I can get here in Seattle.  Also the different cuts of meat that I can't wait to roast!!  It should be interesting to see what I miss when I leave here food wise.  We went to the Borough Market in London when we were back for a visit in November, and OMG what a place. Pricey but fabulous.  I am hoping to find a farmers market somewhere around Maidenhead, Cookham area when we get back..I just can't wait to go to Sainsburys for my first shop and fill up that fridge!  Also can't wait to BBQ in the summer in England.   My in-laws don't have any idea what good BBQ is and I plan to show them. ;D

Jamie and I shop at Sainsbury's and get meat from the market and milk from M&S. The cheeses are fab, I love all the markets that are around. Back home, where I come home from at least, we don't have any butchers or markets, really.  [smiley=heart.gif] I love BBQs in the summer. We use our FIL's grill, it's one of those manly ones.

My mum says the Maidenhead farmers market is monthly, the last time I went to it there wasn't a huge variety of produce Don't know about Cookham. Marlow probably has one, being an old market town.  There's a huge new Sainsbury's about to open in Maidenhead too.
