Ferrero Rocher chocolates
« on: March 11, 2007, 02:52:04 PM »
I'm just having a disgusting day, sorry!

I was given a plastic boxed set of these for Christmas.  Maybe I should have eaten them sooner... they all have maggots.  The expiry date is this month, so check yours if you also eat chocolates slowly.

I'm sure they're a wonderful source of protein, and no health hazard...

Chocolate usually has a sell by date of at least a year from purchase. Sounds to me like you may have been re-gifted (!) or the choccies where sold at a place not paying attention to sell by dates!
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

well they're not past the date yet and getting maggots isn't to do with how old they are anyway, the larvae must have got in the factory. I would send an email to F-R, they might send you some vouchers or something!

I took them to the shop where they were bought, and we checked two newer boxes.  No buggies there!

The expiry on the new boxes is only May 07, though.  (Balmerhon said there should be a year..)

And yes, I'm sure we could get some vouchers/free chocolates... but no.
