Inverness/area restaurants?
« on: April 03, 2007, 02:51:20 PM »
Hoping for some pointers!  We'll be there this weekend, and we're looking for really good food.  We don't mind paying a premium for it.

Um, OK... any decent/edible food?  (Just hoping this holiday won't be like last year in Wales.. the food was pretty uniformly horrid.)

Try PMing Britwife - she lives there now and might know but I think she's on limited internet now until they get broadband again!
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

Thanks!  Otherwise, anyone have any Loch Ness Monster recipes?  We fully intend to catch it...

Hi Madeira,

You could try the following:

La Tortilla Assesina in Castle St - yummy tapas, inexpensive, nice atmosphere;
Lanna Thai in Queensgate - have not yet been there myself but friends say it is great;
Jeera - Indian restaurant Gordon Ramsay once raved about, although personally I was not impressed with the take away we got from there last week;
The Mustard Seed - Fraser St - again have not tried it myself but I hear it is very good.

There are also a bunch of places down by the river that look good so you might want to stroll along there and check them out.
