payroll taxes?

approximately how much is taken outof a pay check for payroll taxes?  

Just trying to get an idea of how much i would home compared to my salary.

Not having lived there yet, I'm not entirely sure. But Inland Revenue seems to state that, depending on your income, it could be significantly more than that.

Yes it goes up to about 40% if you make more than £30,000....so I'm happy staying in a mid-management job, thank you very much!  :)
