Stress of planing a holiday
« on: April 10, 2007, 01:07:50 PM »
I don't know what my problem is. Whenever I plan a holiday I make it so stressful. I spend weeks looking at flights from different airports trying to figure out which one to fly out of. Then of course, there's the hotel issue. I spend so much time looking at hotel reviews, I can never pick one. Even if we stay somewhere one night, I spend days looking at hotels. We're going to Copenhagen at the end of June and I'm still looking at flights and a hotel. We have somewhere to stay but one night. We aren't even going to be in the hotel much, just to sleep, yet I can't bring myself to just pick a place. Anyone else have this problem?

I looooove to do travel research (or any kind of research, really!).

The best place for hotel reviews is www.tripadvisor.com -- I spend hours on there looking at hotels.   ;D

I'm odd.  I really like looking at everything and getting an idea of a trip in my head, but man does it stress me out to actually have to book things.  I just shake when I'm actually purchasing the tickets, and booking the hotel.   :-X

I can relate. I'll look through websites for hours if allowed; it seems like fun at first and soon becomes an unwanted chore! Fortunately, my husband tends to take over and usually gets us a good hotel and has been so wonderful with airfare deals that I rarely bother myself with that aspect.

Do you know anyone who could do a shortlist of good airfare deals/hotels so that you are still making the decision but are not overwhelmed by too many choices?

Hope that your holiday ends up being more than worth the stress of planning everything!

Good idea, I'll have Jamie make a list.

Thanks!
