*ALERT* Pet Food Recall in the US
« on: March 16, 2007, 10:02:00 PM »
Heads up pet owners in the states!!

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070316/ap_on_bi_ge/pet_food_recall

"A major manufacturer of dog and cat food sold under Wal-Mart, Safeway, Kroger and other store brands recalled 60 million containers of wet pet food Friday after reports of kidney failure and deaths."

"Menu Foods did not immediately provide a full list of brand names and lot numbers covered by the recall, saying they would be posted on its Web site — http://www.menufoods.com/recall — early Saturday. Consumers with questions can call (800) 551-7392."

The Menu Foods website does not have the list of affected pet food up yet, looks like it will Saturday (17th) morning.  They haven't released the list of brands yet.

Yeah had tons of calls today at my store regarding the recall. I heard from a customer that it causes organ failure and even death.

It's some Iams dog/cat food and Canned/Pouches Ol Roy Dog food and Special Kitty Cat Food.

I'd say even if your pets arn't eating those brands then i'd still call just to make sure because I know that Petsmart is taking ALOT of other brands off the shelf.

Please call to make sure, don't just assume since it's your pet it's okie.

Wherever you go, no matter what the weather, always bring your own sunshine.
