Rice Crispie Treats
« on: April 05, 2007, 09:52:07 AM »
I adore them. I would make them everyday if I could, but I can't seem to find Marshmallows in the UK that taste as good as Stay Puft...

Anyone have any ideas that might help me to feed my habit?

Oh, I will have my mom make those when I am in the States. Do you know where I can get a good recipe for these? I can only empathise with you on the marshmallows situation; any luck with looking on-line?  :) Gosh, you are making me hungry.

For a quick fix go to the corner shop and buy some pre-made ones. They come in a blue foil wrapper.

Yes, but the home made ones are soooo far superior to these. Not to mention you can cut them as big as you want...eat as many as you want, not run out etc etc...

You can usually find Kraft or Staypuff marshmallows at stores that sell American food.  I am sure some of the online retailers would have them too.  There are some other threads about online American food shops....try those.  Caveat....I pad £3.50 for the last bag I bought at the Rosslyn Deli in Hampstead (London).  Extortinate, but well worth it to plow through a whole tray of treats!

I've heard someone on here recently saying they used peeps instead of marshmalllows and it turned out fab. You might try those in a pinch.
