DH and I are looking for motorcycling buddies..  [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]

He brought his Suzuki V-Strom 650 over but is still in the process of getting it registered and taxed.  I plan on getting something as soon as money allows and we both want to get our UK training done this year.

Anyone ride and want some company? Overnight trips with camping involved (now that the days are getting longer and warmer!) are way cool and it'd be nice to meet some other UK/US mixes. :D

I have already processed that humor..

I used to be a biker, when i was single.
Now, though, with hubby and dog... i need a car, and i cant afford to have both.  I miss my motorbikes *SO* much!

Over the years I had 3 Honda Nighthawks... a 250, 450 and 700, and a GB500.

I ride a 650 Yamaha Dragstar ( Dragonia), hubby has the 1500 suzuki Intruder

me too... not since I was single.
I learnt on a YB100 (piece of s**t), then an FT500. A brief (thankfully) time on a C90! then a GPz305, a GT550, FX400 & the last one was an R1-Z.

Oh well, maybe when we get to AZ I can get another. No bends in AZ & a 55 limit so I guess I might as well get a Harley!!

BTW you have prob. seen the t-shirt, 'If you don't ride Harley, you ain't s**t'. But did you know there was a response t-shirt, 'I don't ride Harley cos I'm not s**t'!
These are small... those are far away.

I am a biker too, I come from a long line of bikers.  I haven't had the chance or money to get on in the UK just yet but I am longing to get back out.  I had a Honda Shadow 500 and sold that for a Harley Sportser which I sold 3 weeks later to move here.   Gosh I miss those time, riding through the country and not really thinking or worrying about anything.

Glad to hear there are a few harda**es on here!!  (hee, punny aint it..)  DH had given me his old '97 Suzuki Bandit 600 GS and I had just finished my riding course in the states when we moved over.  Sold the bandit and now I am craving my own bike again, not that I don't enjoy riding 'pillion'... but you just can't beat having the reins in your own hands ;)

Just came back from holiday and next year are planning a riding trip on the continent. Maybe 2 weeks or so.. Would love to include some UKY people!

Im not quite as bad in cars, but still a nervous passenger.  :-\\\\

My husband and I are taking delivery of a BMW F800 on May 3rd. I don't have a license to drive and never will. Hubby does all the driving. He will take advanced courses soon. He has had two others besides ths. Really looking forward to the west coast of Scotland!

I'm looking into shipping my Triumph, that's been chopped, over to the Uk when I move. My girlfriend's friend is going to help me rebuild the engine and get it going, or help me sort out a bike if I can't ship mine over. Would love to meet up for some weekend/camping rides.

Cheers,

Doug

I have my motorcycle license, but I still dont have my own bike. I hope to get one by the end of this year!

Dougniss..   I would take a look around at some of the older Triumphs you can find here before trying to bring yours over.  I've seen lots around and just know what a pain in the bu** it was for us to bring over the V-strom.

Sidenote:  DH just got a placement at Triumph!!! YEEAY!!! Dream come true for him. I'm looking forward to the discount in gear at the very least ;D  They have awesome women's boots.

My girlfriend has a freind who's boss, near Leeds, comes to the States from time to time to buy old Brit bikes and bring them back to the UK. He then fixes them up and sells them. I was hoping to add my bike in with one of his shipments. But still trying to get the ball rolling on that one. Fingers crossed.
