Well... I was a lurker for the most part, but I just want to thank everyone on this board for being so awesome. I don't know how I would have done this without you guys! I wouldn't have even known where to start!
My husband is an Irish citizen living in England, so we decided to go the Family Permit route.
This is our time line:
September 16th: Courthouse wedding in Chicago.
September 19th: Hubby goes back to the UK to get back to work.
September 27th: My biometrics appointment in St. Paul. Afterward I took my application packet to FedEx.
September 29th: Email from the Chicago consulate confirming that my application had been received. They asked that I allow 3 days for them to process it.
September 30th: Email from the Chicago consulate letting me know that my visa had been granted.
October 1st: The application documents are returned to me, with the entry clearance in my passport.
October 3rd: I will be flying to the UK to be with my husband!
Thank you again, everyone! This site is an amazing resource. I wish everyone the best of luck with their own visas!
Kim
