Kool-aid....or something like?
« on: April 22, 2007, 09:21:48 PM »
Hi-

I'm wondering can anyone tell me if Kool-aid is sold here in the UK? (if so can you tell me what store--I've tried ASDA and my local tescos)

If they don't sell it, can you tell me if there is some other --similar-- form of powdered drink?

I'm using it for a craft project (wool dyeing-non-toxic way) and was hoping to be able to get it...

thanks!

Ok, so then it isn't something I'll find in the stores here?

thanks.

I looked for something similar when I first came here six months ago because I love Crystal Light and unfortunately never found any powdered drink mixes sold in stores here.

I think there might be some sport energy drinks that come in a powdered form, but I'm not sure if the colours will be right for what you're looking for. You can probably find those in a sporty/outdoorsy shop.

If you are desperate, I work next door to a sweet shop that sells kool-aid.  They are sold  in single packets though. I don't mind popping some in the post!  ;D

Unfortunately, there's nothing sold here that is powdered, colourful, AND sugarless (necessary so that your wool doesn't become a sticky mess!), but you can use cake dyes and such instead of kool-aid. Just be sure to add lots and lots of vinegar!!

The ones that the sweet shop next to me sell are the packets that don't have sugar in them. It's the kind you would add sugar to later. But they occassionly do the sugar free ones too.
