Oh sweetie, so sorry this is happening. (((hugs)))

I got sort of sick a couple of years ago and dropped quite a bit of weight. Mostly due to stress, but I lost a huge clump of hair from the side of my head. It was awful, just this huge bald spot, about 5 inches around right on the side. Nothing I could do to hide it except wear a hat or scarf. Mine did come back, it just took some time. The worst part was growing it back in to the same length. I'm sure yours will come back, and I agree with the prenatal vits. They may help quite a bit. My hair and nails always went crazy when i was on them.

Sorry to hear this! Hugs!

I started taking ridiculous doses of Biotin on top of my multivitamin a few years ago and really noticed a difference in my hair and nails. Since it's a B vitamin (which are all water soluble) the body uses what it needs and the rest is excreted. I take between 3000 and 5000 mcg/5 times a week. I also take a B-50 for the rest of the Bs.

It does take at least a month to see any difference, but even my hairdresser (who poo pooed me at first) noticed the new growth of hair. My nails also stopped splitting and breaking constantly.

Not sure if it will help you as well, but I do hope you find a solution. This sounds terribly frustrating! :(

PS. Biotin by itself can sometimes be difficult to locate. I tend to order mine online.

Hugs and good luck.  Keep us posted as to what the doctor says.

Well my blood work up was perfect..nothing wrong with my B-12..she said I don't have to have another test done until July...and losing my hair is just one of the side effects and I will just have to wait it out.

It does eventually stop........I just hope it stops before David and I look like the bopsy twins........ :-X :\\\'(
