Corn syrup

I did a search on this and didn't come up with much.  Is there such a thing as light corn syrup here?  If not, is there something that can be used in it's place?

You might find Karo syrup in specialty shops -- I know Fenwick's has it in their "ethnic foods" aisle for about £5 a bottle.    I just have my grandma send me mine!

No, we dont have it in normal supermarkets here.
Im not much of a baker, so have never needed to buy it in 20 years here, but if i did need it, i would get it in Lupe Pinto's.  (They do mail order too...)

You have to special order it.  It depends on what you use it for.  I have just found UK recipes for the US ones calling for corn syrup. 

To be honest the only thing I ever used it for was pecan pie and it's much nicer without it. :-)

But that's just me. :-)

I am a weird real food nut in case you haven't noticed! 

I've used Lyle's golden syrup instead and it works just fine.
